Our lab visited the Terra Santa Primary School on February 2, 2024! We engaged with 5th-grade students, delving into Online Social Networks and discussing the potential risks for minor users.
Pantelitsa Leonidou, one of our team members, delivered a talk highlighting online risks and shared valuable advice on how students can detect, avoid, and handle these challenges. Nearly 20 students actively participated, sharing their online experiences and posing thoughtful questions.
The seminar extended to introduce cyber safety tools and enlighten students on how these tools contribute to online safety. Our team showcased the “Cybersafety Family Advice Suite” (CFAS) tools, providing firsthand knowledge on staying secure online.
As a hands-on experience, nine students individually participated in the user experience evaluation of CFAS, exploring the latest cyber safety technology.
Our commitment extended to parents, too! We conducted a presentation to raise awareness about online social media threats, demonstrating the functionalities of CFAS tools.
Delving into meaningful conversations about best practices for security and privacy on online social networks!
This initiative is made possible by the CYberSafety project (https://cybersafety.cy/). Our visit also promoted CYberSafety’s objectives, helpline, and hotline 1480.
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and school principal for their invaluable support in organizing the visit. Special appreciation goes to Mr. Eustathios Eustathiou for his dedicated contribution to this event!
Special thanks to our young friends and parents who showed enthusiasm and eagerness to absorb insights from our cyber safety course!
